My love affair continues!

OK...it is confirmed...my love affair with Norwegian Air continues!  Our amazing experience in 2015 on Norwegian was NOT a fluke!  The price can't be beat, the brand new airbus planes are amazing (hello...9 bathrooms on the plane?!?), and the service is great.  I urge you...if Norwegian is flying to your destination - jump on that reservation!   We met owner Bjorn Klos several times in Norway in 2015 and I told him what a fan we were of his airline...if I were to meet him tomorrow, I would give him the same glowing review!  We took a risk when booking this flight from Oakland to Copenhagen and booked an aisle and a window seat...hoping that nobody would take the middle sit - the gamble paid off and we had the entire row to ourselves!  Gary's gluten free meal was good (certainly no worse than my "hot and tasty meal"! So we were happy and eventually dozed a bit on the plane (thank you Advil PM!)

Upon arriving at Copenhagen International Airport, we purchased tickets for the train directly from the airport to the Central Train Station - so easy!  Just 15 minutes and 2 stops later we arrived at the Central Station.
GPS on my phone, led me the 3 block walk to our hotel!  It couldn't have been easier!  We arrived just in time for "wine hour" (how did they know that's what we needed?!?).
We sat next to a nice couple from Toronto and shared travel stories and then talked about baseball and knitting! I'm not sure why a few tables had giant teddy bears seated a them for wine hour...but I intend to find out before I leave Copenhagen!

We headed off on our own for dinner.  Our hotel is near the old meat packing district which has now become hip and trendy (yep, that's us...Kathy and Gary = hip and trendy!).  We had a reservation at Nose2Tail, (billed as sustainable traditional Danish food like grandma would make...only better) but saw this bbq place near by that had such a huge crowd out front that we just HAD to check it out!  Lots of full picnic tables out front, filled with young people (mostly male), but it smelled delish.  We decided to check it out...and were not disappointed!   The place was called Warpigs (named after a Black Sabbath song?!) and I highly recommend it if you are ever in Copenhagen!  You get your food served cafeteria style (it is hand cut for you though)...this is what the guy in front of me ordered:
a slab of bread, slices of beef brisket, then a layer of pulled pork, topped with 2 hot links, some coleslaw and housemade dill pickles!  Yikes...we ordered more modestly; just ribs and brisket with yummy potato salad, dill pickles (Bryan, you would have LOVED them!) and burnt end baked beans,  and took our tray outside!

We were not disappointed - the food was delicious, and the best part, I didn't hear any other Americans near by...a true locals' spot!    They even had gluten free beer for Gary!  As I said, we were in the meat packing district...something that couldn't be forgotten when sitting under this sign:

A nice stroll back to the hotel, dodging all the bike riders, and we were in bed early...tired but happy!
